Bangkok Bank joins UnionPay International to further strengthen their cooperation by expanding services via ‘Bangkok Bank Mobile Banking’. Just open the app and scan Weixin Pay QR or known in Thailand as “WeChat Pay” and UnionPay QR to pay instantly, covering over 90% of merchants in China at over 100 million locations so there is no need for customers to carry cash and exchange money while offering good rates without service fees. Bangkok Bank is the first bank to support Weixin Pay QR and UnionPay QR scanning to pay in China, and ‘Bangkok Bank Mobile Banking’ is an app that can support payments at over 90% of merchants in China, or over 100 million locations.
Weixin Pay QR scanning service to pay via ‘Bangkok Bank Mobile Banking’ will help travelers and the Bank’s customers who travel to China, which is currently a popular destination for Thai tourists. They can use ‘Bangkok Bank Mobile Banking’ to scan and pay for products and services at stores with the Weixin Pay symbol, including UnionPay QR service that the Bank, as the First Mover, has provided. Transactions can be made instantly without downloading additional apps and there is no need to top up or exchange money in advance. The system will deduct the amount from the deposit account to pay in local currency. The exchange rate is calculated in real time, so there is no need to worry about exchange rate fluctuations and there are no service fees. More importantly, you can rest assured that every purchase is processed according to strict, high security standards.
