EXIM Thailand Launches 10 Billion Baht SME Support
EXIM Thailand Responds to BOT Policy by Launching the 10 Billion Baht “Mee Sup Mee Thun” Measure to Strengthen Liquidity for SMEs Affected by Economic Conditions and Rising Energy Costs
Mr. Charat Rattanaboonniti, President of Export-Import Bank of Thailand (EXIM Thailand), revealed that EXIM Thailand has responded to the policy of the Bank of Thailand (BOT) aimed at assisting SME borrowers affected by the economic slowdown, as well as rising energy and operating costs, which have impacted the liquidity and debt-servicing capacity of entrepreneurs across various sectors. In line with the BOT’s “SMEs Secure+” framework, EXIM Thailand has launched the “Mee Sup Mee Thun” measure with a total credit facility of 10 billion baht to help entrepreneurs gain access to financing, enhance liquidity, and maintain business continuity.
Under this measure, EXIM Thailand is ready to provide financing support to SMEs with collateral, with lending conditions tailored to the business potential of each entrepreneur in accordance with the criteria specified under the “Mee Sup Mee Thun” measure. The program is designed to provide funding for SMEs with collateral, enhance liquidity, and strengthen business rehabilitation efforts, enabling them to continue operating with greater stability. Eligible entrepreneurs may obtain financial support with a loan tenor of up to 10 years, a maximum credit line of 50 million baht per borrower, and an interest rate starting from 4.80% per annum (Prime Rate -1.25%).
EXIM Thailand believes that the proactive implementation of the “Mee Sup Mee Thun” measure will serve as an important mechanism to help Thai entrepreneurs effectively cope with economic volatility and rising cost burdens. The measure is also expected to help preserve employment, strengthen the resilience of Thailand’s business sector, and enhance the country’s long-term competitiveness.
