for Boosting Thai-Chinese Trade and Investment
Mrs. Warangkana Wongkhaluang, Senior Executive Vice President of Export-Import Bank of Thailand (EXIM Thailand), participated in the China (Guangxi)-Thailand Financial Cooperation Conference held by the People’s Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in collaboration with Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) in Nanning, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, People’s Republic of China, from July 17-20, 2023.
The conference served as a platform for Chinese and Thai banks, including EXIM Thailand, to collaborate and discuss strategies aimed at expanding the financial service network to bolster Thai-Chinese trade and investment. EXIM Thailand showcased its comprehensive and diverse financial services, including trade and investment risk management tools, designed to empower Thai entrepreneurs and optimize the efficiency and value of international trade and investment between Thailand and China.
The Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in southern China, with a population of around 50 million, serves as China’s “Gateway to ASEAN.” Its strategic location bordering Vietnam and connecting to Thailand’s northeastern region makes it a crucial trade hub between China and other countries, particularly for fruit imports from Vietnam and Thailand. Additionally, the region plays a significant role in supplying essential minerals to China and is well-known for its rare earth resources, extensive sugarcane plantations, and sugar processing facilities. Presently, numerous Thai companies have set up operations in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, engaging in diverse business activities.
