SCB, NIA, and depa Celebrate the Success of IBE 6

Siam Commercial Bank (SCB), in collaboration with the National Innovation Agency (NIA) and the Digital Economy Promotion Agency (depa), recently concluded the IBE 6 Digital Sustainnovation program. The program, designed to foster the development of digital innovation-based organizations focused on sustainability, culminated in the awarding of certificates to 109 participating companies.
SCB Executive Vice President, Head of Business Banking L1 Mr. Suparit Mekaroonkamol, NIA Deputy Executive Director of Innovation System Mr. Pariwat Wongsamran, and depa Senior Executive Vice President, Head of Digital Transformation Promotion Unit Dr. Ratthasart Korrasud joined the closing ceremony.

The 6-week IBE 6 Digital Sustainnovation program aimed to guide organizations in integrating digital innovation with sustainability. Throughout the program, 109 participating companies explored key aspects of innovation and sustainable business development based on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles. The program kicked off with an overview of the business ecosystem, helping participants understand the context and opportunities available to them. They delved into innovation, learning how to leverage AI to generate new ideas and modernize business strategies for enhanced efficiency. Additionally, they explored transformation strategies for sustainable growth, focusing on applying emerging technologies to reduce costs and boost profits.
Leadership was also a central theme, with a focus on cultivating visionary leaders. Participants were inspired by real-world examples of leaders who have successfully built stable and growing organizations across various industries. Practical learning and networking were integral components, with visits to the Vidyasirimedhi Institute of Science and Technology (VISTEC) and the Sustainable Manufacturing Center (SMC), where participants gained further insights.
In the final week, the entrepreneurs presented their business plans in blueprint format, showcasing how they planned to drive transformation in their operations through innovation. They strategically incorporated ESG principles into their business models, aligning with corporate governance practices to ensure long-term sustainability.
The IBE program has successfully run across 6 batches, engaging 336 entrepreneurs. It has consistently garnered strong interest from SMEs, thanks to its focus on equipping participants with essential knowledge on innovation and sustainable business practices. These practices help businesses manage policy risks arising from new ESG requirements—challenges that are becoming increasingly relevant in today’s business landscape.

For the IBE6 program, SCB has introduced content on artificial intelligence (AI) technology, highlighting its pivotal role in the digital era. This addition equips participants with tools to leverage AI for both sustainability initiatives and new business opportunities. Moreover, participants will benefit from support provided by government agencies and access to funding opportunities through NIA and SCB, further enhancing their ability to innovate and grow.
