SPCG dividends for 2019 at 1.22 baht, higher than last year with a net profit in 2019 of 3,011.3 million Baht, together with the announcement of the business plan 2020, aims to generate revenue of 6.7 billion Baht from 2 main businesses, Solar Farm and Solar Roof.
On 2nd March, 2020, Dr. Wandee Khunchornyakong Juljarern, Chairperson and CEO of SPCG Public Company Limited or “SPCG”, revealed that the operations of the Company and its subsidiaries ended on 31st December, 2019 the revenue was 5,246.5 million Baht, a decrease of 681.7 million baht from the previous year, representing 11 percent. With a net profit of 3,011.3 million Baht, equivalent to earnings per share of 2.74 compared to the year 2018 with a net profit of 2923.6 million baht, an increase of 87.7 million Baht, representing a growth rate of 3 percent.
At the board of directors ‘meeting held on 28th February, 2020, it was resolved to propose to the shareholders’ meeting to approve the dividend payment from the operating results of the year 2019 at the rate of 1.22 baht per share, totaling 701,272,800 baht. In which the interim dividends were paid from the operating results for the period January 1st – June 30th, 2019 at the rate of 0.50 baht per share. The remaining dividends to be paid in this period were 0.72 baht per share. The right to receive the dividend (Record Date) on 17th March, 2020 and the payment of dividends on 15th May, 2020. The business plan for the year 2020, the company targets revenue growth more than 6,700 million Baht, which will come from 2 main businesses. Which are 36 solar farms, with a capacity of 260 megawatts and solar roof business operated by Solar Power Roof Company Limited or “SPR”, a subsidiary of SPCG.
Dr. Wandee said the Solar Roof business this year targeting revenue growth leaps and bounds due to further development success by bringing the Solar Roof system to Leasing in the amount of 100% with financial institutions for a long period of up to 15 years by signing a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on the development of solar power generation projects on Roof (Solar Roof) in collaboration with Mitsubishi UFJ Lease and Finance Company Limited (“MUL”), PEA Encom International Company Limited (“PEA ENCOM”) and Kyocera Corporation Japan (“Kyocera”) to increase capacity and solar roof investment opportunities for industrial plants in Thailand. Because a lot of energy is used each day for industrial plants. The installation of a solar roof power generation system will help to reduce electricity costs a lot and also helps to reduce carbon dioxide (CO2) which is the main cause of global warming.
For the solar farm business, SPCG has jointly invested with Kyocera Corporation Japan (“Kyocera”), Kyudenko Corporation and other investors to develop a solar farm project under the name of “Ukujima Mega Solar Project” with a capacity of approximately 469 megawatts at Ukujima Island, Nagasaki, Japan. With an investment proportion of approximately 2,600 million baht or 17.92%. The project development is to be completed in 2023.
Currently, SPCG has 36 solar farms in Thailand, distributed in 10 provinces with a total capacity of 260 megawatts. The first commercial electricity distribution began in 2010 at the Solar Farm (Korat 1) the First commercial Solar Farm in Thailand, and SPCG has completed all 36 Solar Farm projects in 2014 with capable of generating 384.9 million units. With efficient management, in 2019 all 36 Solar Farm projects generated up to 397.4 million units which is the highest since the SPCG has completed all 36 Solar Farm projects. With the quality of solar module together with important components of the system allowing the project to produce electricity efficiently even after more than 5 years operation.
