SIMtec focus to Train 7,000 Automation Skilled Workforces for EEC by 2020.
20-6-2019–Today during Department Of Industrial Promotion director and press visiting Sumipol Institute of Manufacturing Tecnology (SIMtec)
a private manufacturing technology training instution, Mr.Thongpol Oulpathorn Executive Director of SIMtec unveiled that SIMtech will be ready for official opening by the end of coming August and aiming to train exisisting industrial workforce and vocational school students for the future workforce to support transforming Thailand to be Industry 4.0 by the year 2025.
“SIMtec is expecting to train about 80% of existing industrial workforce to be up skilled and reskilled for automation system know-how and also aiming to train the vocational student for future workforce”said Mr.Thongpol.
SIMtec was founded by Sumipol Corporation Co.,Ltd the leading distributor of full circuit high quality machining and industrial tools, established in 1988, services over 30,000 customers collectively.
There are thirty (30) brands in total mainly from Japan, which fully and partially support by providing SIMtech machines tools and equipment including ,maintenance with upgrading, training courses and personal,such as the tool&machine and robotics producers; DMG, MOR, FANUC,NACHI / High presision measuring tools producers ; MITUTOYO/ Cutting tools and jigs equipment producers; SUMITOMO, DOG, A.L.M.T, BIG DAISHOWA, NABRYA, OMRON and others including Lean Automation Center of DENSO.
There are 43 total equipments to be installed in SIMtec for training ;
Machine 6 units, Jigs Figure 8 units, Neasurment 16 units. Robot 11 units and automation set 2 sets, worth 110 million baht in total.
SIMtech has also signed MOU with 14 agencies in total for cooperation, namely;
Initially SIMtech is now open some partial theory of computer aid design (How to use Solid work software of CAT program) and Engineering Drawing Interpretation training courses and it will be ready for full operation with the capacity of about 500 seats of training room, including full furnished 300 seats meeting hall, 8 class rooms and instaleed machines and equipments will be ready in September 2019 after it was official launched in 30 August, 2019.
“SIMtec focusing to train the work force in EEC Zone which comprised of 3,786 factories.We target to train 5,000-7,000 workers by 2020 and expected to achieve in training about 30,000 workers at fully capacity within the next three years(2022).”said Mr.Thongpol.
The fourteen(14 ) alliance agencies SIMtech signed MOU with are comprised of 1. Department of Skill Development, Ministry of Labour.
2. Office of the Vocational Education.
Commission, Ministry of Education.
3. Department of Industrial Promotion, Ministry of Industry.
4. National Institute of Metrology (Thailand), Ministry of Science and Technology.
5. Digital Economy Promotion Agency, Ministry of Digital Economy and Society.
6. Thailand Professional Qualification Institute (Public Organization).
7. Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand.
8. The Federation of Thai Industries.
9. Thailand Automotive Institute.
10. Thai Auto Parts Manufacturers Association.
11. Thai Tool and Die Industry Association.
12. Thai-German Institute.
13. Technology Promotion Association (Thailand-Japan)
14. Sumipol Group Limited.
“SIMtec will invite representative of each alliance we signed MOU with to be SIMtech member of the board, in order for each agency to clearly know how each agency could support SIMtec properly.”
“Each student of big company who affordable will pay 2,500 Baht for each time training which is the same rate as the cost charged by TGI of Thai-Japan Institute of Tecnology but for the the qualified individual workers without ability to pay but require to be train to be up skilled and re skilled and apply to SIMtec will be trained free of charge”
“SIMtec is also plan to request Ministry of Labour to support individual workers who want to be trained by SIMtec.”

Mr.Kobchai Director of Department Of Industrial Promotion said “SIMtech is another training center even better than The Industrial Transformation Center (ITC) in Kluay Nam Thai by more available machine and equipment and tools installed with the upgrading service available.”
“If Ministry of Industry has budget available it will be set aside to support SIMtec as one of private agency supporting countries’ industial policy.”
