Commerce Warned Auto-Parts Industry Ready to Face US Tariff Barrier
28-1-2019—Commerce Ministry found Thailand export more to USA-China in various items impacted by Trade War, warned auto-vehicle and auto-parts industries to get ready to face USA’s taking Article 232 action to put import tariff barrier on Auto-Vehicle and parts’.
Mrs. Oramon Subthawitham Director-General of the Department of International Trade Negotiations (DTN) disclosed that Commerce Ministry has been monitoring Thailand’s international trade statistics changing impacted by the measures action made by both USA and China in a trade war.SHe said initially, it was found that Thailand export more to USA in some products, such as; home electric appliances and electronics devices, and ICT products that might gain benefit from taking the place of China’s product export to USA. For the products Thailand export more to China are such as; Petroleum crude oil, fruits and frozen prawn that might gain benefit from export to take the place of USA’s product in China’s market.
