“Somkid” Accept FTI Request to Recover “Economic Cabinet Meeting”
19-7-2019—Today 09.30 hrs at the Government House, Mr. Supant Mongkolsuthree, Chairman of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI) gave an interview after meeting with Deputy Prime Minister Mr. Somkid. Jatusripitak to discuss about the cooperation between the private sector and the government in 4 subjects.
Subject 1 FTI wants to continue the meeting of the public and private sector joint committees chair by Prime Minister to solve the economic problems twice a year, in order to have a working platform to work together.
Subject 2 To have ease of doing business meeting chair by Deputy Prime Minister few times a months. In the past, the industrial sector and the government sector have eliminate a lot of unnecessary laws.
Subject 3 Establishing again the Economic Cabinet Meeting, as in the past economy cabinet work well with the private sector, which in the view of the private sector Economic Cabinet meeting is necessary. Because it will make cooperation clear and easy while this government has many political parties and many ministries
“To have Economic Cabinet meeting is good to follow up economic operations, especially during this time, must accept that the economic recovery must be accelerated to help drive the economy better.”
Subject 4: Setting up an innovation fund from the private budget of one billion baht, with the support from the government in terms of tax benefits, which the donation amount of money can deduct three (3) times of expenses in tax calculation.
“The innovation fund is driven by the private sector to support innovation. Regarding research and development (R&D) for small and medium enterprises (SMEs), including cooperation with government agencies such as NSTDA ( National Science and Technology Development Agency ) , TISTR (Thailand Institute of Scientific and Technological Research) , or universities in terms of R&D. There will be cooperation with foreign countries regarding self-adjusted to new technologies to serve innovation and selves –developed to be survived.”
