MOF Celebrates 149th Anniversary
MOF, “The Pillar of Thai Treasury and Economy”, Celebrates 149th Anniversary with the Determination to Move Forward for the People
Mr. Lavaron Sangsnit, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, revealed that on April 14, 2567, will mark the 149th anniversary of the establishment of the Ministry of Finance, which is considered a highly significant period. The Ministry of Finance is an organization that plays a crucial role in guiding Thailand’s economy towards a suitable direction and creating fiscal sustainability for the nation.
“The completion of the 149th anniversary and the stepping into the 150th year will be a crucial turning point towards the progress in the new era of the Ministry of Finance. We remain committed to developing and improving ministry services to meet the expectations and needs of the people, utilizing contemporary technology, adaptable strategies that respond to current circumstances, and most importantly, developing the capabilities of our personnel to be both competent and ethical, transparent, and supportive of government policies for the benefit of the nation under the principles of fiscal sustainability, reflecting the role as the pillar of the Thai economy for sustainable development.”
For the 149th anniversary celebration of the Ministry of Finance this year, it will be held on Monday, April 1, 2567, with the sacred ritual and Buddhist ceremony at the Ministry. The ceremony will be presided over by His Holiness Somdet Phramaharajamongkolmunee (Thongchai Dhammatacho), Wat Trimitr Witthayaram Rangwihaan, Bangkok. Member of the Supreme Sangha Council. In addition, there will be awards presented to outstanding civil servants under the Ministry of Finance for the year 2566, as well as awards for civil servants who demonstrated honesty and integrity for year 2567. Both awards aim to recognize and honor exemplary staff members who have dedicated themselves to serving the people with dedication and honesty.
Furthermore, on the same day, there will be an opening ceremony of the new building, named “150th Anniversary Building of the Ministry of Finance.” This is a large building, 21 stories high, with approximately 73,000 square meters of floor space. It will accommodate various offices of the Ministry of Finance, including Office of the Permanent Secretary, Office of the Minister, Public Debt Management Office, and State Enterprise Policy Office, all under one roof. This consolidation aims to enhance efficiency in serving the public, based on environmentally friendly building principles (Green Building), considering resource utilization, energy, and the environment.
