Uttama Welcome Thammasat EEC Project, Promote Medical Hub in EEC
29-10-2019–Deputy Professor Kesinee Vitoonchart Dean of Thammasat University and Thammasat Executive team met Industry Minister Dr.Uttama Saonayon on Friday(26 October 2018) presented the readiness of Thammasat EEC project to be a part of Eastern Economic Corridor.
According to Deputy Professor Kesinee Thammasat University is ready to Develop its Pattaya Campus Center both in surrounding and the building that able to Serve various of activities to promote and develop the industry, research and full circuit medical and wellness, initially Thammasat EEC Project is aiming to request EEC board to build 300 beds size hospital ready to serve more people flowing to work in EEC area.
Minister Uttama acknowledged and accepted the potential of Thammasat EEC project and agree to support Thammasat University that plan to coordinate with its private sector and global academic alliances to continue develop the area to be ready to serve and develop a human resource to be ready for the future of EEC in line with Thailand 4.0 goal of policy.
The plan of Thammasat EEC Project is focusing on building the hub for medical and wellness including coordinate with potential alliance in developing Thailand’s biotechnology (with British ‘s University of Nottingham), new automotive industry (with MG/CP) telecommunication( with Huawei), rail systems technology., etc which are all in the list of EEC new targeting industries.
Thammasat EEC project will be proposed to EEC Board approval for it to be officially contained into EEC promotion zone to gain the privilege according to EEC Act.
Thammasat EEC is located on the potential area. Thammasat EEC’s 565 rai of land is located in Banglamung District, Chonburi Province around The 12th Kilometer, there are 2 access from Sukhumvit main road and Highway Number 36.
Thammasat EEC special promotion zone is located on the center area of EEC logistics link, 121 Kilometer away from Suwanmbhume Airport, require only 1.30 hour to travel by car between. It’s location is only 40 Kilometer away from Utapao Airport and 27 Kilometer away from Lamchabang Sea Port. It’s also the key strategic location link to tourism, as it is only 15 Kilometer away from Pattaya City.
There are more than 2,000 rai of land nearby Thammasat EEC project belong to private sector those are ready for the development expansion.
