PM satisfied Thailand rank 27th of 190 in Ease of Doing Business of World Bank.
3-11-2018–This morning Mr. Puttipong Poonnakan Political Deputy Secretary of Prime Minister acting as Spokesman for Prime Minister Office disclosed that Prime Minister satisfied Thailand World Bank announced Thailand’s progress in score in Ease of Doing Business and remain in The World Bank’s Top 30 Rank in Ease Of Doing Business of total 190 Countries, while Thailand continue in developing.
According to Ease of Doing Business Report 2019 announced by World Bank
Thailand has progressed with a score of 78.45 out of 100, up from 77.39 in the previous year, although it dropped one rank from 26th to 27th, but still remain in the top 30 of 190 countries.
“The Prime Minister emphasized that the government has focused on regulatory reform over the years to reduce the gap of Thai standards with high standards of the world. ” The report said. Thailand reforms well in 4 important areas:
1) Starting a business, the cost of registration is reduced.
2) The procedure of requesting for electric connecting have shorten and easier and more transparency in changing electricity fees.
3) Tax payments have improved, the system for calculating and filing corporate income tax have been available online.
4) E-Matching System is using in controlling the cargo and able to reduce transit time.
Thailand is also one of the countries with the most reforming in facilitating electricity supply requirment. The score reached 98.57, close to the best practice in the world. While the bankruptcy resolution is the challenging of the world, Thailand has increased the score in this area from 75.64 last year to 76.64 this year.
Prime Minister admired the World Bank for reflecting on useful information that make the world see the progress of the country. “Anything that Thailand has weaknesses will accelerate to be improved further.” Prime Minister thanks to World Bank that realised when Thai committed in improving the atmosphere of doing business for private entrepreneurs, this will help Thai people have better jobs and lead to better quality of life.
