PTT OR launches the first B10 Diesel in Thailand.
Pushing B10 to be the main diesel, absorb over supply oil palm.
29-5-2019–Dr. Siri Chiraphongphan Minister of Energy and Ms. Chiraphon Khaoasawat, Chief Executive Officer and President, PTT Oil and Retail Public Company Limited or PTT ORA Jointly, “The opening ceremony of the B10 Diesel for the first time in Thailand in the station Oil service “at PTT Station Eastern Seaboard Chonburi province.
Dr. Siri Chiraphongphan Minister of Energy revealed that the Ministry of Energy planned to have the high speed diesel B10 as the main oil of Thailand to replace the existing main diesel fuel diesel B7 in the year 2021.
By the both supporting measures, it will make the Diesel B10 retail price one baht per liter cheaper than the retail price of the existing conventional diesel. The cheaper retail price will push the diesel B10 to become the main diesel fuel oil.
If the measures can make B10 to become the main diesel fuel as planned, it will make the use of 2 million tons of crude palm oil per year from the current using 1.5 million tons of crude palm oil per year, or 500,000 tons more of crude pam oil will be consumed after B10 Diesel turn to be the main diesel used in Thailand, according to the country’s palm oil strategy.
The Ministry of Energy is confident that from the standard quality of high speed diesel oil B10 and the availability of PTT Station, as well as the availability of the current 12 brands of car that certifies that their cars can use the diesel B10, including 944 models in total. That will help diesel users to ensure the quality of the diesel fuel and turn to use B10 diesel more.
Ms. Chiraphon Kaosawat, Chief Executive Officer and President of PTT Oil and Retail Public Company Limited or PTT OR, said that PTT OTR is ready to sell PTT UltraForce Diesel B10 in PTT Station from today onwards, which it will first begin to be available for sell in PTT stations in The East and The South and PTTOR plan to expand the distribution of diesel fuel B10 to be the main type of diesel fuel in the country as it was planned as soon as possible., according to the Ministry of Energy.
PTT believes that with the quality of PTT UltraForce Diesel B10 that both the Ministry of Energy and carmakers have guaranteed, it will not affect the engine. The UltraForce Diesel B10 was also adding Cetane additive that makes the engine more powerful, while its completely burning reduce black smoke by 42 % compared to normal diesel.
This helps maintain the environment. In addition, the high speed diesel oil B10 is also ome baht per liter cheaper than ordinary diesel, which is considered to help reduce the fuel cost burden of car users as well.
Supporting the use of crude palm oil to be produced as biodiesel B100 and mixed into a high speed diesel B10 is considered as a direct aid to Thai farmers who grow palm.
This year the price of the palm oil fresh fruit was slump to 1.6 baht/Kg before raised up to about 2.20 baht/Kg after B100 was launched. Ministry of Energy has been pushed many plan into action to absorb over supply oil palm, expected that the price of oil palm fresh fruit will be raised to reach 3 baht/ Kg to make oil palm farmer better living.
Currently the price of global CPO (Crude Palm Oil) is 16.5 baht/Kg which is reflexing the price of oil palm fresh fruit in the range of 2.50-3 baht/ Kg but currently by the drought reason made oil palm fruit has less crude oil productivity. To produce one liter of CPO required about 7 Kg of oil palm fresh
Now the oil palm plantation in Thailand is more than 5 million rai.The fresh palm fruit price in Thailand was made 17 years record low in April at 1.91 baht/ Kg.
Even after EGAT had absorb 160,000 tons of CPO from it’s about 350,000 tons, in order to maintain the stock at 250,000 tons which is considered as the appropriate level of stock. As of this month (May), by the reason that the oil palm fruit keep flowing into the market.for the farmer’s better living.
Oil palm fruit’s price situation seems not recover as Ministry of Energy expected to have its price to reach 3 baht/Kg for better living of the farmer. By the reason, the oil palm fruit will keep flowing into the market until the end of June before it will be seasonal reduced.
