Thailand Four Major Party Leaders Join Share Similar-Differentiated Policy at Bangkok Post Forum 2019.
7-2-2019—Today at Centara Grand at Central World, the leader of four major political parties in Thailand;Mr.Uttama Saowanayont Head of Palangpracharat Party, Mr.Chutchart Sittiphan one of Peua Thai Party well-known leader whose name was proposed to be the next prime minister, Mr.Aphisit Wejjajiwa Head of Democrat Party and
Mr.Tanathorn Cheungrungreuangkit Head of New Future Party has join sharing similar direction of their policy with some difference detail on the same stage at Bangkok Post Forum 2019 event.
All the four party leaders was sharing the similar policy regarding the Thai society sustain well and happiness that would be built by the reducing inequality in income education communication and financial access, support using technology to apply for the better efficiency of Thai economic and society, to move Thai people out from the middle income trap by support Thai people to learn how to use digital technology to apply for better income on their job for better quality of life and to develop especially transportation infrastructure to drive Thailand economy, including better welfare for primary age child, children education and aging group of people.
By the way making the similar policy direction they shared, there are some outstanding difference policy that each leader shared on stage at the event such as;
Exceeding the similar policies, Mr.Uttama shared that if Palangpracharat Party was elected to join the government the party will support the root base economy, such as to solv out-system loan occurred from the villager seek more loan to pay back village fund loan interest by provide them three years grace period to stop charging interest to their loan under the condition that they must join occupation training cost to improve their own finance.To support e-commerce know how, digital infrastructure including gathering communities’ order of demand for economy of scaling price of supply and for small retail stores in communities and to have taxi drivers accessible to the loan for them to have their own car for income and opportunity, in order to strengthen Thai economy that ready to pull up the economy while another sector are weak. He also shared that the party will focusing on the targeting industry which are technology intensive investment such as robotics, E.V. and bio-economy to support the potential of what Thailand has as an agricultural rich countries.He also considered drug addicted as the serious problem that need continue solving.
Exceeding the similar policy, Mr.Abhsit said he believe that Democrat Party would lead to form the next government, he proposed that he consider the corruption as the most serious problem that has been the cause of political problem in Thailand, including the reason why Thailand was enforced to have coup government during the past five years. By the anti-corruption matter, he presented the motto “People Must Be Empowered, The Democratic Must Be Honest”.
Mr.Abhisit also considered that in order for Thailand to be able to cash up with the economic advantage of foreign country due to using technology as the tools to run economics, the quick law legitimacy process is as essential factor to open the door to be legally implement the digital technology to Thai economy, then if Democrat Party can join the government by the general election the party will recommend the technology’s to gain the privilege for faster legitimacy to update the law ready for Thai people to have the digital technologies to develop Thai economy. He also said its Time for Thailand to act the role of this year’s Chairman of ASEAN, not just focusing on bilateral talk but talk clearly to China about Belt and Road initiative and to make efficiency on the role as Chairman of ASEAN to balance the power in economic negotiation of the nation, such as on import tariff matter. He also said its time for Thailand to change the paradigm to judge the economic outcome by not focusing on the result of GDP but focusing on the wellness of Thai people’s living. Mr.Abhisit also insisted that Democrat Party will again using the price guarantee policy for rice and rubber crop and will expand the policy to cover others various kind of crop, including oil palm and corn., etc.
Mr.Chutchart of Peua Thai Party said he believe that the infrastructure projects indeed essential to drive Thailand’s economy but it must consider more on demand oriented, such as Utapao Airport should not be the next international airport to serve the exceeding demand of Suwannabhume Airport, since the demand is not over there . He said more demand is in Rayong where various of business are located on. He also said the rail project in Nakorn Ratchasima province should link to Chantaburi-Trad lrovince and connect to Srihanu Vill or Koh Kong Island of Cambodia and connect to Hojiminh City of Vietnam to link Thailand with ASEAN, that would be more reasonable to create economic value for Thailand in the future, instead of having unclear plan to link anywhere of ASEAN.
Mr.Chutchart also disclosed his standing point that he would like government to open for people to show their opinion or complain about government ‘s policy and work whe also prevent the fighting atmosphere on social media by using no reply social media platform, which the program not allow people to criticise or reply to the former message.He also disclosed his standing point affirmed that he will not cooperate with any party or anyone who suppoet dictatorship and coup, in case if he and PeuaThai pparty was trusted to form new government after the general election.
The Chief of New Future Party Mr.Thanatorn has they: difference radical policy direction compare with other parties, he said he believe that the root of Thailand problem has been keeping inequality remain since the beginning of Thailand’ democracy is Thailand structure of Power that have never been changed, then if his party became government what he will do are to protect Thailand for no more coup, by restructure Thailand’s Authority by turning down the power of the following three groups; 1)the group of capital monopolized business, 2) many law and regulation of centralize government agencies that provide them authority that close the opportunity of Thai people to have better life’s quality and could lead the authorized officers to corruption, 3) the group of army leader that opposed to democracy that used their authority forcing people to difficulty without taking responsibility. He also said in order to have the welfare spread to cover all the needy, he will have tax restructured by collecting higher rate tax from the high income group of people that has ability to pay, including the housing tax restructure. In order to have enough funding to support the elders, children and higher education for all child.
He also said during the past season 2017/2018 , the government paid 50 billion baht to support poor farmer and lending 30 billion baht special rate loan to them, while the rice farmer still have to dry their rice on ground under the sun and must be tired keep watching and protect their rice from damage.
“By the reason that farmer can sell their rice at the price of 1,000 higher when they can turn down the humid of their rice from 25% to 10%, then with the same amount of the budget government paid to support poor farmer, the government paid for farmer, it can buy the rice dryer oven machine for the farmer in order for them to dry their rice in the better and easier way, like what Japan farmer had stop drying their rice on ground since the past 30-40 years” said Mr.Thanatorn.
