Ministry Command 600 Factories to Set CEM for Emission Real Time Check.
30-1-2019—Mr.Somchai Harhirun Vice Industry Minister, as acting Minister disclosed at the Press conference that Department of Industrial Works, Ministry of Industry commanded 600 factories nationwide which are in the list of ten controlled industries under the industrial act to install CEM (Continuous Emission Monitoring) at the chimney of the plants to linkon line to report itsreal time emission volume direct to the monitor of the department to prevent air pollution harming community environment.
So far over 150 factories had CEM installed and link to the department while the plants remain were expected to have CEM installed and linked within one month.
According to the current inspection through 1,006 plants from 7,700 plants in the pollution risky area, Department of Industrial Works found dust pollution in 14 factories nationwide, while the inspection through 350 plants of total 1,700 plants in Bangkok and circumference provinces that nine factories found water, noise and smell pollution. The circumference provinces found the plant’s emission are such as Samutprakarn and Samutsakorn., etc.
There are about 2,000 more plants external the industrial pollution controlled rule that Department of Industry Works will also request for coordination to install CEM for better emission control, according to
Mr.Thongchai Director General of Department of Industrial Works.
