26-10-2018—Today at Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand (I-EA-T), during the policy assignment visit of Industry Minister Mr.Uttama Saonayon Miss Somjin PiLeuk I-EA-T governor disclosed about Maptaput Industrial Port Phase III Development project which is one of the fourth key infrastructure projects of EEC that is now on the process of drafting the TOR (Term of Reference) to invite private investor to purchase the auction document soon, and expected to consider the proposal of the private auctioneer in the beginning of 2019.
Uttama Assigned I-EA-T Urgently Develop Key Infrastructure to Mobilize Target Industry in EEC and SEZ.
Industry Minister Uttama disclosed after visiting and assigning work conducting policy to I-EA-T’s executive board and high ranking officers that I-EA-T have the important role to mobilize government policy, especially the task related to local area development and infrastructure systems in Eastern Economic Special Development Corridor (EEC) and Special Economic Zone (SEZ) to serve the investment in Thailand, to create work and income for people in the area, leading to Thai economic growth to response to Thailand 4.0 policy, especially in the year 2019.
During the visit Minister Uttama assigned I-EA-T officers urgently develop Industrial estate and key infrastructure to mobilize EEC and SEZ to serve target industry, to link agriculture law material source, tourism, and services in all regions nationwide to be ready to link to the market in neighboring countries, to lift up Thai people’s income level to build their wealth to push the economic in 2019.
While I-EA-T is ready to develop Smart Park, Maptaput Industrial Port Phase III in EEC area, Srakaew Industrial Estate in Srakaew province, Sadao Industrial Estate in Songkhla Province and Rubber Industrial
Estate in Songkhla province to be the mechanism to push up the level the farm products to response Thailand 4.0 policy goal.
Smart Park is comprised of 1,500 rai of land located on EEC area in Maptaput Industrial Estate, Rayong province, aiming to serve targeting industry which is high-technology industrial cluster such as Robotic Industry, Aviation Industry, Medical Industry ., etc which are now under the area designing and Environmental Impact Assesment (EIA) process. It is expected to be approved by National Resource and Environment Development Policy and Plan Committee at the end of the year 2018 and ready to open for the investor to invest in the year 2022.
Government aiming to use EEC to be the routing link economic to others area in SEZ and also link the economic trade and logistics to the key area in the neighboring country. I-EA-T has developed and open 660
Rai of land in Srakaew Industrial Estate which has been interested in domestic and foreign investors
The first phase of Srakaew Industrial Estate was full, while the second phase is under developing the infrastructure systems, which made over 70% progress and its construction is expected to be completed and ready for booking in around 2019.
I-EA-T is also looking for the developer to develop 629 rai of land in the first phase of Sadao Industrial Estate in Songkhla province, which is the second industrial estate founded under Government’s Special Economic Zone, that is expected to open to serve the investment in the year 2020. I-EAT- is studying
Others area for SEZ development such as in Tak, Mookdaharn, TRad, and Nhongkai province, which those are important in creating value added for farm product, promoting tourism and create income for local people.
For Rubber City, Songkhla province that government target to create value added to rubber to lift up Thailand’s rubber price sustainably. Now the Rubber City has been drawing the good response from both domestic and foreign investors those purchased and rented the space to operate their business.
Therefore the Rubber City is considered the key essence that would support and create sustainably high rubber price in the future.
