Commerce to Held “Sourcing Forum” on Feb 26.
Expected 2 Billion Baht Trade / Fast Forward to 8% Export Target 2019.
13-2-2019—Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP) to organize “Sourcing Forum” the first grand trade negotiation event to start 2019 global market penetration plan. Expected the business matching between about 500 Thai enterprises with over 148 foreign buyer companies worldwide such as from ASEAN, China, India, Africa, Middle East and Europe. The event will be held on February 26, 2019 during 8.30-17.00 hrs at Centara Grand at Central Plaza Ladprao Bangkok, Wipawadee Ball Room. It was expected the event to have 600 pairs of business matching and will generate two billion baht trade volume for the year 2019, which at least 200 million baht trade volume to be made at the one day event.
This year Commerce Ministry kept the export target unchanged, even Thailand made 6.7% export growth, lower than the target set at 8% last year. In order to have Thai export grow 8% as is was targeted, Commerce Ministry Deputy Minister Chutima Boonyaprapatsorn assigned DITP to urgently push Thailand export to grow faster, and the “Sourcing Forum” was plan to be the first event to quicken the growth of Thai export. The event is aiming to promote and mobilize Thailand’s export and pushing Thai’s consumer products expand its market share to ASEAN, East Asia, Oceania, South Asia, Middle East and Africa, including open the opportunity for Thai enterprises to have networking and negotiating with business alliances who are important buyers from oversea, in order for them to see the opportunity the expand to new market channel and able to make marketing plan to be precisely and substantially matched.
Mrs.Banchongjit Angsusingh General Director Department of International Trade Promotion said DIIP is aiming to have proactive export expansion plan, even the export expansion is now under many uncontrollable factors, including global economic situation, economic policy and internal politics situation of Thailand’s trade partner countries. One of the plan is to have new channel to access to new market such as Modern Trade and On-Line Platform, which are the new way to select and buy the products for the new generation consumers which their consumption behavior was changed according to the social changing situation that fast and convenience are required. At the “Sourcing Forum” DIIP had invited the retail stores such as Tashang Department Store,
Hangzhou Lianhua, 759 Store. Reliance Retail, Future Retail, Anokhi, Mackro, Big C and On-Line Platform such as Alibaba.com, Herma Fresh, PayTM, JD, NYKAA., etc to join the trade negotiation with Thai enterprises at the event to select Thai products to set the sale promotion and public relation activities at the branches of the department stores or on the oversea On-Line Platform.
